Ohio Treatment Center Staff

At Ohio Treatment Center, each staff member brings a combination of education, training, professional certifications, and hands-on experience. Your team is engaged in your recovery and will approach your treatment from a variety of disciplines to meet your needs.

Many members of our staff are in long-term recovery themselves and have a passion for helping people suffering from addiction. We are real people in recovery, we have walked the path you are embarking on, and we are excited to help you.

Josh Dressel

Josh Dressel

Co-Founder

I am in recovery myself and was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, and returned to Toledo late in my 20’s. I jumped headfirst into sobriety and recovery, and the progress I have seen at the Midwest facilities keeps me coming back every day, eager to do more and help more people. The difference between Midwest and a lot of other facilities is our abstinence-based program. We believe abstinence and participation in a recovery support system, like the 12-step model, will provide results. The other thing that stands out about our facility is our philosophy to help everyone that calls us to find the right resources. If we cannot accommodate potential clients, we will try our hardest to find a place for them within another facility or organization. Success in recovery is very much about accountability. Every individual is responsible for holding themselves accountable, but we also make sure that they know that we expect them to be held accountable to us as well.

Josh Dressel is a Co-Founder at Midwest Centers. He strives to make Midwest Centers the best place clients want to recover and grow on a daily basis.

Sherri Walker

Sherri Walker

Director of Operations

I oversee operations at the facility level. Client success is my passion! Being part of clients when they are rebuilding relationships, obtaining employment, and becoming independent—while remaining sober—is my main objective. We strive to maintain an educational, 12-step-focused, and fun outpatient program. My favorite part of the job is helping clients to achieve their goals. I want to help give clients the necessary tools and resources to help them succeed.

What truly sets us apart at Midwest Centers is our staff! The passion and teamwork here are like no other. Our team truly puts the clients first and will go to great lengths to achieve success. We are a family and work very well together!

Taryn Moga

Taryn Moga

Director of Clinical Programming

Midwest Centers Outpatient

I specialize in mental health and have worked in the mental health field since 2014. I currently work with adult individuals who struggle with addiction and mental health disorders. I provide a safe space for clients to openly and honestly share their deepest thoughts and feelings without the fear of judgement. I use a strengths-based perspective and empower clients to focus more on their individual strengths, rather than their flaws and weaknesses. I utilize CBT techniques to help clients learn to recognize maladaptive thought and behavior patterns and assist with them with making positive changes that will promote a happier and healthier lifestyle.

My goal for our staff is to provide support, encouragement, and hope in our clients who are suffering from the disease of addiction through a positive, therapeutic relationship. I strive to have our staff take care of themselves first, so they can provide high quality care necessary to meet each client’s individual needs. What drives my passion is being able to see the progress and the change in our clients to lead healthy, successful, and sober lives. At the Monroe St. location, you will be greeted with warm and friendly faces by our staff and our clients. We provide evidence-based group therapy sessions, day treatment programming, individual therapy, case management services, and medical services. This location also offers a gym for the clients to exercise, yoga, outside fun activities, client lead recovery-based meetings, and so much more!

Our clients are involved in the intensive outpatient level of programming. At this level, the skills learned in the partial hospitalization level of care start to emerge and make a positive impact on the client’s lives. It is rewarding to see the clients work through their struggles, develop new and effective coping skills, and build healthy, sober relationships with others.

Taryn Moga, LSW, MSW, is the director of Clinical Programming at our Monroe Street facility. She graduated in 2021 and received her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and Graduate degree at University of Toledo. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Master of Social Work, and licensed Social Worker.

Jessica Malagon

Jessica Malagon

Director of Clinical Programming

Midwest Recovery Centers – North Baltimore

My goal is to help clients find purpose and meaning in life so they can create a stable and secure future. What I love most about this field is seeing the true power of healing and transformation. Serving multiple populations over my career has opened my eyes to the boundless ways we heal as humans. I learned on this path as a healer that you get to either plant the seed, water the seed, watch the seed grow or see the seed bloom. If you are lucky enough, you get to see the whole transformation journey, at whatever stage they are in.

I handle case management, therapy, clinical assessments, group facilitation, and trauma-informed care. My approaches include CBT, DBT, and art therapy. I love that we are one of the smaller locations because it allows us to provide more individualized care to each client, especially those with severe and/or multiple diagnoses. The most rewarding part of working here is being a part of a team that is a passion driven to help every single individual who walks in and we can meet them right where they are at.

Jessica Malagon, LSW, is the Director of Clinical Programming at our Midwest Centers North Baltimore location. She graduated from The University of Findlay in 2014 with her LSW degree.
